# Official PHROGs database mirrors

This directory contains database files distributed by the PHROGs
(Prokaryotic Virus Remote Homologous Groups) project. They are mirrored by
the Atkinson laboratory for reproducible use by the annotation pipeline.

### `phrogs_mmseqs_db.tar.gz`

Official prepared PHROGs MMseqs2 profile database.

### `phrog_annot_v4.tsv`

PHROG identifiers, functional annotations, functional categories, and category
colors used to enrich MMseqs2, HHsearch, and HMMER/PyHMMER results.

## Modification status

The two database archives and metadata table are unmodified mirrors of files
distributed by PHROGs. `README.md`, `LICENSE.md`, and `SHA256SUMS` were added
by the Atkinson laboratory.

## Integrity

Verify all files using:

    sha256sum -c SHA256SUMS

## Attribution

Users should credit the PHROGs project and cite the relevant PHROGs
publication. The Atkinson laboratory did not create the underlying PHROGs
database.
